I thought a good way to learn more about studio-based shows was to go and watch how one operates, so I decided to go as a group with two other peers to watch the Channel 4 game show, Countdown.
I thought this would be a good place to visit as the only previous experience with studio shows I've had are working on studio shows during my undergraduate over three years.
I thought that this was a great experience as I was learning a lot about how a studio show operates in an external environment outside of the University where I had previously made shows.
However, I've learned that I could have made more of this trip. I could have tried to engage with the crew that works on Countdown and tries and asks them for some tips on how to get employed.
Furthermore, I could have asked if there were any positions available at the moment to see if there were any part-time running roles, or even some work experience or shadowing.
Overall it was a good day and I learned a lot about studio shows.
