Getting work experience is important in the industry as employers are always constantly looking at what you can do in a real work-like environment.
I wanted to gain a bit of experience for my portfolio to further my chances of employment. To do this I decided I would work with a peer to produce content for the History & Archaeology department at the University of Chester.
For this, we were tasked by our client to create short videos showing the artefacts that the students will be examining. This shoot consisted of getting close up shots of the objects which lasted for a few seconds each. These shots were then taken and edited into 5-second clips for the department to use on their website.
I feel I learned from this day how to engage with clients and how to discuss with the client what they want. Looking back, I wouldn't change how this day filming went as I left happy and the client was left happy with the footage.
Katherine Wilson from the Department of History and Archaeology gave us some feedback in an email to us and our lecturer.
