Improving my CV

CVs can make or break a job application. If your CV looks unorganised and doesn't stand out to employers then it could be easily dismissed.

That is why I thought I would look to improve my CV to try and make me more appealing to employers. So I decided to visit Careers and Employability on campus to try and get some advice on how to make my CV better.

And from this, I got a guide which shows you different examples of CVs and how to lay them out. Also, I decided to email Neil Land from the BBC to see if he could have given me any advice on my CV.

However, I never managed to get a reply from Neil and never got advice on my CV. I would try to send off my CV to more people industry next time to see if I can get any responses.

On the other hand, I felt that the guide was very useful as it made my CV look more presentable in the end. It definitely helped me improve and to prioritise what to put into my CV depending on what jobs I apply for.

Although I felt I could have utilised Careers and Employability more, I feel I could have set up a meeting about tips on how I could get into the industry. To conclude they prove to be useful with their guide and it has made my CV more presentable to employers.

However, going back I would have used their other facilities and tried to arrange a meeting to talk about how to get into the media industry. Furthermore, I would have arranged a meeting about my CV to see if there was anything they noticed could be improved.

Below is the latest iteration of my CV which has been edited with media jobs in mind.
